Wednesday afternoon, Bay County Fire Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Wood Valley Road.
Dispatch received the call shortly before 1:15 p.m., and crews arrived on scene at 1:22 p.m.
Bay County Fire Rescue responded with assistance from Panama City and Lynn Haven. While working to put out the fire, Crews face challenges such as wind speed and direction.
Fire leaders applaud the response. “They were able to protect all the exposures and not let the fire spread to any additional house,” said Bay County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Matt Gothard, “With the winds, it made it a little bit of a challenge for them to get on the house that was on fire, but all of our crews with the city of Lynn haven, and the city of Panama city worked really well getting the fire under control.”
The cause of the fire is unknown. It is also unknown if anyone was home at the time.
The State Fire Marshal was on scene investigating.
