A teenage girl was hospitalized after an SUV struck her while she was walking in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday morning.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police, the girl was struck by an SUV while walking south on SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
When officers arrived at the scene, they reported that she was conscious and breathing but had a visible injury to her arm.
Rescue teams assessed her condition and reported that her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. However, police said that she was airlifted to Saint Mary’s Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The roadway was temporarily closed to facilitate emergency response, but has since reopened to traffic.
