Two killed, four injured in pickup truck crash in Milton

A late-night crash at a Milton intersection left two people dead and four others seriously hurt on Friday night.

Troopers say the crash happened at about 11:25 p.m. at the intersection of American Farms Road and Cornfield Way in Santa Rosa County.

A pickup truck carrying six people was traveling east on Cornfield Way when it collided in the intersection with an SUV traveling north on American Farms Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say after the impact, the pickup was redirected to the northeast, struck trees on the northern shoulder along Cornfield Way, and overturned.

Two occupants of the pickup truck were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.

Troopers say the pickup’s driver, a 20-year-old Milton man, was seriously injured.

Passengers included a 19-year-old Milton woman who was critically injured; a 19-year-old man who was seriously injured; an 18-year-old man who was seriously injured; and two 19-year-old passengers — a woman and a man — who were killed.

The SUV’s driver, a 57-year-old Milton woman, suffered minor injuries. No other occupants were listed in the SUV.

Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide unit responded and is conducting a comprehensive investigation.
