Two escape early morning house fire in Venice

Firefighters were on the scene of a single-family house fire early Tuesday morning on Brentwood Drive in Venice.

Multiple units responded to the blaze, which broke out about 4 a.m., the Sarasota County Fire Department.

Two people were in the home when the fire broke out but they were able to get out safely, officials said.

The fire was out by 5:15 a.m., a department spokesperson told ABC7.

Motorists near there are being asked to avoid the area this morning.
