A high-speed two-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning left two men dead at a Boynton Beach intersection.
Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office say they responded to the deadly collision around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Jog Road and Woolbright Road.
Investigators say 43-year-old G was driving a 2025 GMC Sierra pickup truck northbound on Jog Road at a very high rate of speed as he approached Woolbright Road. At the same time, 78-year-old M of Boynton Beach was driving a 2017 Audi A6 westbound on Woolbright Road.
As both vehicles entered the intersection, the front of Armas’ pickup truck violently struck the driver’s side of R’s sedan.
The force of the impact redirected the Audi nearly 90 degrees, sending it spinning into its final resting position within the northbound lanes of Jog Road. The GMC pickup truck ramped over the Audi, redirected to the northwest, rolled over, and came to a rest in the southbound lanes of Jog Road.
Both drivers sustained severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to crash investigators, A was not wearing safety equipment, while R was wearing his seatbelt.
Investigators noted that it is believed A was driving under the influence, listing impairment as a contributing factor in his actions leading up to the crash.
