Tractor trailer towing a truck overturns on I-10 in Escambia County

A tractor trailer overturned Friday morning on I-10 near Nine Mile Road.

It happened around 11:55 a.m., causing traffic congestion.

FHP says a straight truck towing a second straight truck was traveling westbound on I-10 in the outside through lane.

The driver — a 52-year-old Elmont, New York — lost control when attempting to negotiate the construction area. Its towed vehicle then fishtailed and overturned, which blocked the two I-10 westbound through lanes.

The driver was transported to local hospital.
