CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) —Two people were injured Sunday after a boat carrying five people struck the Sand Key Park jetty.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, two vessels appeared to be returning from offshore fishing when the collision took place.
FWC reported that the operator was ejected from the vessel on impact and that one other occupant also sustained injuries.
The injured parties were brought by the second boat to the Seminole Park boat ramp, where they were then taken by EMS to a nearby hospital.
The extent of both people’s injuries is unknown, and no further information is available at this time.
