A flipped vehicle snarled traffic Thursday afternoon on Buena Vista Boulevard in The Villages.
The three-vehicle crash occurred at about 1 p.m. on Buena Vista Boulevard, north of County Road 466A.
A man driving a Ford Edge made an abrupt lane change and failed to yield to other vehicles, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s office.
The Ford Edge struck a Honda CRV, and the CRV struck a vehicle ahead of the Ford Edge, which was a Lincoln SUV, which rolled over. The Lincoln SUV came to rest in the northbound lanes of traffic of Buena Vista Boulevard.
The woman driving the CRV was transported to the HCA Florida Emergency Room at Trailwinds Village for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Ford Edge was cited for the improper change of lane.
The crash caused backups in traffic on Buena Vista Boulevard.
