All lanes have reopened on Interstate 295 northbound at Normandy Boulevard after an overturned logging truck shut down the road for hours Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver lost control of the semi and rolled over due to a possible mechanical failure.

No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved in the incident, according to FHP.

All lanes reopened shortly after 1 p.m.

News4JAX reached out to FDOT officials to ask about possible damage on the road following the crash. A spokesperson responded with the following statement:

“The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is aware of the crash at I-295 at Normandy Boulevard and has been onsite assisting law enforcement and clearing the roadway since the incident occurred. FDOT’s primary concern is for the safety of everyone involved and ensuring the roadway is cleared as quickly and safely as possible.

FDOT maintenance officials routinely respond to incidents such as this to assess the roadway and address necessary repairs promptly. Onsite crews will evaluate the roadway and determine if permanent repairs are warranted. Should future repairs take place, FDOT will notify the public accordingly.”
