No students were injured when a Brevard Public Schools bus was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Melbourne, officials said.
A Brevard Public Schools spokesperson said the bus was transporting students from Longleaf Elementary School when the crash happened.
“All students are safe, and parents have been notified,” officials said.
Melbourne police posted on social media around 3:04 p.m. that they were working a crash on Wickham Road near Business Center Drive. BPS officials later confirmed the crash involved a school bus.
Police said “there are lane closures as a result,” but did not provide additional details.
Melbourne police asked drivers to use caution and consider an alternate route if traveling in the area.
Another bus was summoned to transport the students, according to BPS.
