At least 1 dead after major crash in Fort Myers

Fort Myers police are on the scene of a fatal crash at Colonial Boulevard and Winkler Avenue.

Multiple officers, EMS and firefighters are on the scene of the crash that happened around 12:20 p.m.

According to reports, a semi-truck and car collided. Traffic investigators say the driver of the car was pronounced dead on the scene.

FMPD says east lanes of Colonial Blvd are closed at this time for investigation. Two westbound lanes on Colonial Blvd have reopened.

All eastbound traffic will be diverted south onto Winkler Ave.
