A baby who was saved from a deadly crash earlier this month by a Florida deputy has been released from the hospital.
Lola visited Deputy Sgt. David Musgrove at the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office recently now that she’s released from the hospital.
Musgrove rescued Lola from a crash on Feb. 8 after he saw a motorcycle speed past him on S. McCall Road in Englewood. The motorcycle crashed into a car, killing the motorcycle driver. Lola was trapped inside the car and was unresponsive.
Musgrove, who was already holding another child who was inside the car, flagged down a bystander to hold the child so he could rescue Lola from the car.
Lola was taken to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, where Musgrove visited her last week.
Musgrove said he’s happy to see Lola’s progression, though she still has a long road to recovery. He said he looks forward to their next reunion.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody awarded Musgrove a Back the Blue Award for his actions saving Lola’s life.
