A woman died more than two weeks after a car hit her while she was riding a bike along a busy road in Pinellas County, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed Tuesday.
The 51-year-old woman was hit on the afternoon of Dec. 23 on Ulmerton Rd., east of the Gateway Expressway near Largo.
FHP said a Nissan Versa driven by a 21-year-old woman from Miami Gardens changed lanes into the path of the bike, which was going eastbound in the westbound bike lane.
What we know: The bicyclist went to the hospital with serious injuries and died at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to FHP.
Neither the driver of the Versa nor her passenger, a 59-year-old Largo woman, suffered any injuries.
What we don’t know: FHP did not release the name of the woman who died.
