Boca Raton woman accused of hit-and-run attack on boyfriend with Range Rover

A Boca Raton woman has been accused of hitting her boyfriend with her car after they got into an argument at El Camino.

The Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD) stated that they responded to a domestic disturbance outside a home in the Fairfield at Boca neighborhood late Sunday night.

When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found a man lying in the bushes next to the home. He stated that his girlfriend, 44-year-old Patricia Habe, had hit him with her Range Rover.

The man was then transferred to Delray Medical Center as a trauma patient.

While investigating the scene, detectives said they found the black Range Rover in the driveway of another home, with Habe standing behind it.

Habe told detectives that she and the victim later found out to be her boyfriend, were eating at El Camino in Boca Raton when she took a trip to the bathroom.

She continued to say that her boyfriend got mad at her for being in the bathroom for too long and accused her of having sex with someone while she was there.

In a conversation with the boyfriend at the hospital, he told detectives that Habe was in the bathroom for 17 minutes, which made him angry.

He allegedly left the restaurant with Habe’s phone because he was so upset with her. Habe found him outside of the restaurant, where he forcibly ripped off her underwear to see ifthere was “anything in it.”

The boyfriend told detectives he left and began walking along Military Trail to Habe’s house, less than half a mile away.

The probable cause affidavit states that as the boyfriend was approaching the gate to the neighborhood, Habe attempted to hit him with her car, but he “dodged it.”

The report continues to note that he continued to walk to the home when Habe hit the back of him with her car, causing him to lose consciousness.

The man woke up, and Habe reportedly told him that she hadn’t hit him that hard. He grabbed her phone from him, got back into her car, and drove away.

As a result of the crash, the boyfriend suffered from multiple fractures to his pelvis and had a fracture to his lower spine, as well as suffering from internal bleeding.

BRPD had another interview with Habe in which she admitted to driving the car, then quickly reversed her statement and shouted “I plead the fifth” while hiding under a blanket.

Habe has been accused of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, failing to remain at the crash scene involving serious bodily injuries, and obstructing justice.

She is currently out on a $65,000 bond.
