A Boca Raton woman told police she had an affair, then hit her husband after he looked at her cell phone to see if she was still communicating with her fling. That woman is now facing a battery charge following her arrest by the Boca Raton Police Department.
Lara Spodek Gilman was taken into custody by the Boca Raton cops on Thursday. The arrest report, obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, outlines the allegations made by police:
”Upon arrival, I met with Lara Gilman who advised the following: her husband (redacted) and her have had recent relationship issues in reference to an affair she had. (Her husband) picked up Lara’s cellphone which was in their bedroom. Lara said that (her husband) started to look through her phone messages due to his distrust of her. (Her husband) ended up sitting on the couch with the phone and putting it underneath his back so Lara could not get it. Lara said that this is when (her husband) had his arm up to keep her from retrieving the phone. While (her husband) had his arm up, Lara admitted to slapping (her husband) on his left arm, using her right hand. (Her husband) then walked away holding the phone above his head so she could not reach it. (Her husband) left the apartment briefly then came back to take Lara’s laptop, he then left again.”
“We were able to locate (her husband) after Lara opened (an iPad) and tracked his current location,” wrote police. “A (City of Boca Raton Police Officer) met with her husband and collected his side of the story. He advised the following. He grabbed the cellphone the bedroom because he wanted to look at Lara’s messages due to his distrust of her after the affair she had. It should be noted that the phone belongs to (her husband) as he uses it for business purposes. While Lara was attempting to get the cellphone back from (her husband), she slapped him multiple times, on the back and on the left arm. I was not able to view any red marks or current injuries in those areas.”
”Lara Gillman was ultimately placed under arrested and is being charged with simple battery after she slapped her husband during an argument. Gillman was brought the Boca Raton Police Department booking for processing and later turned over the Palm Beach County Jail.”
