Bonita Springs man accused of DUI, hitting multiple parked cars and tree in Naples

A man from Bonita Springs has been arrested after allegedly driving under the influence and hitting multiple parked cars in Naples.

North Collier Fire and Collier County EMS crews responded to the incident at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Jose Cornelio Soto reportedly sideswiped a vehicle on Immokalee Road and hit multiple parked cars inside the Amberton community before finally crashing into a tree on Dancing Wind Lane.

Witnesses said Soto sideswiped their vehicle while traveling east on Immokalee Road near Logan Boulevard before hitting multiple parked cars at the community.

Soto then attempted to leave the area but crashed into a tree just outside the entrance to Amberton.

Deputies arrived shortly after and took him into custody without incident at the Naples Jail Center.

Soto is being charged with DUI with a blood alcohol level (BAL) of 0.15% or higher, leaving the scene of a crash involving attended property damage, leaving the scene of a crash involving an unattended vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.
