A box truck overturned early Friday on Interstate 95 near Edgewater after a rear-end crash, creating major backups, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. near mile marker 241.
According to a preliminary FHP crash report, a 2025 Mack box truck was traveling south in the outside lane of I-95 behind a 2015 BMW 435i. The driver of the Mack failed to slow down for the BMW and swerved to the right, causing the box truck to strike the back of the car before overturning and partially blocking the roadway.
Both drivers, a 24-year-old North Carolina man driving the truck and a 26-year-old Fort Lauderdale woman driving the BMW, were uninjured in the crash, troopers said.
Traffic cameras showed vehicles moving slowly past the crash initially on the shoulder, but southbound lanes later reopened after 7:30 a.m.
No other details have been released.
An investigation is ongoing.
