Boynton Beach Man Dies Days After Critical Crash in Boca Raton

A Boca Raton man is dead, dying several days after a crash at Atlantic Avenue and Legends Way in Boca Raton.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says Malcolm Arnold Cohen, 93, of the 11700 block of Caracas Boulevard in Boynton Beach was a passenger in a Hyundai Sonata heading eastbound on Atlantic Avenue.

As the Hyundai turned left onto Legends Way, the driver of a Volkswagen Beetle continued through the intersection. That vehicle’s bumper hit the rear passenger side door of the Hyundai. Both vehicles had a green light, according to PBSO.

Cohen was rushed to Delray Medical Center in the moments after the crash around 8:50 p.m. on the night of February 17th. He was pronounced dead early Monday morning.

No charges filed at this time. The Hyundai was driven by Marcie Lynn Deorsas of Corkwood Avenue in Boynton Beach. The Beetle was driven by Viola Portillo of Black Olive Lane in Boca Raton.
