A Bradenton man died in a crash Thursday after hitting multiple Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and injuring a deputy.
SCSO deputies attempted to stop Cody Burrow, 31, in the area of Beneva Road and Webber Street at 5:38 p.m.
Burrow had a warrant out for his arrest on narcotics charges, according to SCSO. He crashed his pickup truck into a Tesla and multiple SCSO vehicles, which injured a deputy.
The injured deputy was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for his injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Burrow sped away from deputies. He crashed into a utility pole at Lockwood Ridge Road and 53rd Street, about six miles from the traffic stop, at 5:47 p.m. Burrow died in the crash.
