A Bradenton man was killed Wednesday morning when he collided with a pickup truck on County Road 675, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Investigators say the man, driving a Ford F-350, was traveling west on County Road 675 shortly before 9:30 a.m., approaching 125th Ave East. Another vehicle, a Chevy Silverado with a utility trailer in tow, was traveling in the opposite direction.
Troopers say the Silverado veered into the eastbound lane. The driver of the Ford tried to avoid the Chevy but sideswiped the left side of the Silverado and hit the trailer in tow, ripping it from the pickup.
The driver of the Ford was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate.
