A vehicle crashed into a home on Northwest 42nd Lane in Cape Coral late Tuesday night, sparking a fire.

The Cape Coral Fire Department reported that Engine 7, Engine 8 and Ladder 11 responded to the crash involving an SUV just after 11 p.m.

According to CCPD, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading in the structure beyond its façade and a window, which were left charred with soot.

The driver sustained only minor injuries, and the home was unoccupied as it is a new construction.
