Car catches on fire after crash in south Fort Myers

A car was left charred after it caught on fire in a south Fort Myers crash on Sunday night.

The black pickup truck burst into flames along McGregor Boulevard at Rails End Court at 10:38 p.m.

NBC2 crews at the scene noted there was major damage to the surrounding palm tree and fence. Debris was on the sidewalk.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the crash is related to an altercation involving known subjects.

The crash was initially reported by the Florida Highway Patrol as a hit-and-run. It has since been determined to be a single-vehicle crash.
