The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a car that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Orange County that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Monday morning.
The accident occurred on Monday, November 4, near the intersection of Colonial Drive and Sandy Creek Lane in Orlando. The time of the crash has not yet been confirmed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP stated in a preliminary report that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Colonial Drive, approaching Sandy Creek Lane, when it veered off the roadway onto the grassy shoulder. The front of the vehicle then struck a man who was standing on the shoulder of Colonial Drive.
The unidentified man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The hit-and-run collision was reported at around 6:50 a.m. The vehicle involved in the crash fled from the area prior to the arrival of FHP troopers.
According to FHP, troopers located an unspecified vehicle part while investigating the scene of the accident. The part likely belongs to an unknown color Toyota Camry, possibly between 2004 and 2015.
FHP further stated that the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run should have damage to its front grill, front headlights, and front windshield.
