A 14-year-old boy had to be taken to the hospital following a crash at 8750 Gladiolus Drive. The crash happened around 4:22 p.m. Friday. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the teen was riding a mini bike when he collided with a Honda sedan driven by a 64-year-old man. The teen was transported to Gulf Coast Hospital with serious injuries, according to troopers. FHP said the crash is under investigation. Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating what they are calling a “highway violence incident,” from Sunday on I-75. Troopers said the incident happened near mile marker 374 and closed all southbound lanes. Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes. A 22-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash with a sedan in south Sarasota Friday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a motorcycle was headed south on U.S.-41 at a high rate of speed, approaching the Landings Boulevard intersection. A sedan traveling north on U.S.-41 made a left turn toward Landings Boulevard, crossing southbound lanes. The motorcycle crashed into the sedan in the middle of the intersection, FHP said. A man has died following a shooting outside a Melbourne bar on Sunday night, according to police.  At 11: 16 p.m., officers were called out to Mugs Pub on Sarno Road for a man who had been shot. When they arrived, they found the man unresponsive in the parking lot.  Fire and rescue personnel performed life-saving measures at the scene, but the man ultimately died of his injuries.
