A bicyclist was struck and killed in a crash involving a Sarasota County deputy’s patrol car, the sheriff’s office announced Friday morning. Police announced the arrest of a man Thursday who they say sexually battered a boy in Pembroke Pines last month. According to Pembroke Pines police, 39-year-old Saul Alfonso Silva Valecillos is facing 14 counts that include sexual battery on a minor, online solicitation to engage in unlawful sexual conduct and possession of child pornography. A woman faces 38 counts of animal cruelty after authorities said they discovered an alleged puppy mill in Merritt Island. Many of the dogs found were severely ill, according to deputies.
