 A 78-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 4 in Kissimmee on Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.  The incident happened just before 1:40 p.m. on I-4 west near US-192.  A Toyota Corolla was parked on the outside shoulder of the interstate with its hood raised when a pedestrian outside the car “possibly entered the outside lane,” troopers said. Police are investigating a shooting that happened at an apartment complex in Lake Mary over the weekend.  The incident happened just before 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Fairways at Lake Mary, according to the Lake Mary Police Department. A man who fell asleep in the drive-thru of a Lakeland Taco Bell has been accused of driving under the influence. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said on July 6, deputies arrived at the Taco Bell at 2520 U.S. Highway 92 East around 10 a.m. in response to reports about a suspicious person. Police are investigating a domestic stabbing that left a woman seriously injured in Lauderhill on Saturday evening. A couple got into an argument at a home near Northwest 12th Street and Northwest 58th Avenue before it escalated to the man stabbing the woman, according to Lauderhill Police. Lauderhill Fire Rescue arrived to the house and transported the woman, who has not been identified, to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition. UPDATE – MONDAY JULY 8 41-year-old Richard Burt is now being held in Escambia County Jail on charges of drug possession, larceny, and probation violation. Deputies are investigating the shooting of a 23-year-old woman Friday night in Escambia County. It happened in the 3800-block of E Mallory Street. According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, upon arrival, deputies found the woman with a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital. Deputies continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.

A 31-year-old man is accused of dangling a child from the second-floor balcony of a Daytona Beach resort and dropping him, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. Officers responded to Sandlewood Resort in Daytona Beach around 8 p.m. on Saturday. According to an arrest affidavit, Brandon Gilmore, 31, told the child’s mother, who he had met hours earlier at the resort pool, that he was going to play with the child outside to “scare him a little bit.” Gilmore

A pedestrian was critically injured Friday afternoon in a crash in Port Orange, according to the Port Orange Police Department. Police said Marguerite Cuomo, 84, was hit around 2:16 p.m. near the Publix located on Taylor Road in Port Orange. She was taken to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, police said. A person was in custody after a man was found shot to death in Coral Springs Monday morning, authorities said.
