A 59-year-old pedestrian was struck while crossing the road in Cypress Lake by a teenage driver. A Lee County EMS crew responded after the pedestrian was struck on Cypress Lake Drive and Overlook Drive on Thursday, at around 7:30 p.m.. The victim was declared a trauma alert and transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. The Fort Myers Police Department responded after the pedestrian was struck on Fowler Street and Winkler Avenue at around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Both riders were transported to the hospital as unresponsive but are now in stable condition. The pedestrian is also stable but suffered a partial amputation as a result of the crash. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

A 21-year-old woman is dead after she reportedly was hit by two vehicles while walking on State Road 82 in Collier County Saturday morning. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV and sedan were heading west on SR-82, south of Corkscrew Road. At around 4:42 a.m., the SUV hit a woman walking in the westbound lane of SR-82.  The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says one man died, and two other people were injured after a shooting near Touch of Class Lounge early on Sunday morning. Officials say deputies responded to gunshots near the lounge located in the 5100 block of 14th Street West in Bradenton around 2 a.m. According to MCSO, a 30-year-old man was found lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound while surrounded by hundreds of patrons.
