A man was arrested for holding his mother hostage in a Riverview apartment Thursday night, according to officials. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at the Allegro Palm apartment complex around 9:26 p.m. after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance. A motorcyclist died Thursday night after he crashed into a pickup truck on Baymeadows Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. The 25-year-old motorcyclist was driving east on Baymeadows Road around 7:15 p.m. when a Toyota Tundra pickup truck towing a large utility trailer went to make a left turn after it pulled out from the Park Avelino Apartments, according to JSO. The pickup truck and trailer blocked all eastbound lanes, causing the motorcyclist to hit the driver’s side, JSO said.
