A woman was hit and killed while a driver was reversing in a parking lot in Palm Harbor, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.  It happened at 1 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot off Tampa Road.  FHP says a 66-year-old woman from Palm Harbor was backing up when she hit a 74-year-old Palm Harbor woman who was walking through the parking lot at the same time. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information was provided.

A 19-year-old was arrested in Marion County after deputies say he was driving at more than 100 mph in an attempt to flee a traffic stop. It happened on Nov. 26 around 11 p.m. when two deputies witnessed a vehicle traveling 71 mph in a 45 mph zone in the area of Southeast 58th Avenue and Larch Road. A Miami woman was arrested for stabbing a man in his chest with a pocketknife on Friday, according to an affidavit. A witness told officials that the incident began when 22-year-old V S and the victim got into a verbal argument. See grabbed the man by his shirt, leading to the victim grabbing See’s wrist and pushing her off of him. That’s when S pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed him in the right upper chest area, the affidavit said.

A truck towing a trailer, with an improperly loaded CAT skid steer, crashed Monday on I-75, the Florida Highway Patrol announced. According to troopers, a Dodge Ram 3500 with a trailer was traveling southbound on I-75 near milepost 284 in Pasco County when it began to jackknife. A man was hospitalized Monday night after being shot by a man and female at a store in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO says around 8 p.m., patrol officers were sent to 7900 Moncrief Dinsmore Rd. in reference to the man who was shot. The man is in his 30s and he was taken to a local hospital by a “private vehicle,” according to S, as he suffered a “non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right hand.”
