A crash on Interstate 4 in Orange County closed all westbound lanes at Sand Lake Road just after 9 p.m. on Monday. A woman from Hialeah faces charges of negligence and physical harm against her own mother, a 96-year-old woman who had been under her care since 2022. It was the tenants of the alleged victim who noticed the apparent signs of violence on the elderly woman’s body. The daughter of the victim, Elizabeth Benavides, 68, was arrested on Saturday. A man has been arrested after shocking video showed him strangling a 10-year-old boy at a Sunny Isles Beach park, police said. The Tampa Police Department arrested a man on charges that stemmed from a drug overdose death on February 8, 2024. Jeffrey Moyer, 48, was arrested for the death of Kenny Martin, 29. Police were called to a home on N. Forest Hills Drive for reports of a medical emergency. When they arrived, they found Martin unresponsive in the bathroom. A pedestrian was killed in Pinellas County Sunday morning after being hit by two vehicles, authorities said. Five people were left with gunshot wounds, three of those victims being minors, at a gathering in Florida, according to officials. A 2-year-old boy was shot by a 4-year-old in a home on Saturday morning, police say. Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said that shortly after 9:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to Pulaski St. in Port Charlotte for a 2-year-old shot by a 4-year-old. A 37-year-old convicted felon was at the Monroe County Jail’s Key West facility on Sunday accused of killing a 54-year-old man, records show. Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Lee Charles Quinn on Saturday at the corner of Overseas Highway and 39 Street in Marathon.
