Nearly a decade ago, a detective arrested James Michael Gill in Hollywood accusing him of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in Margate. The teenage girl’s mother reported the abuse to police after noticing bruises on her daughter’s body and asking her about it, according to an arrest report. After a 2017 conviction on the charges of lewd or lascivious battery and lewd or lascivious molestation, Gill was sentenced to two years of community control and about 13 years of probation.

Cape Coral police are searching for a man, missing after his brother died Tuesday, apparently shot in the head, Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore said.
