According to Gainesville Fire Rescue, stations one, two, and three responded to a commercial building fire on Southeast 8th Place and Southeast 4th Street in Gainesville. The fire started in a medium-sized brick business. Firefighters were able to quickly get the fire under control and put it out. A man was shot and killed Monday night during an encounter with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, police said. Police said they were called to investigate a carjacking on Eaverson Street around 8:40 p.m. Monday in the Durkeeville area. An older woman called 911 after her car had been stolen. Officers were called at 11:49 p.m. Monday and found the person with several gunshot wounds to their chest and stomach. Smoke poured out of a home along Gordon Drive in Naples on Monday evening. Around 5:37 p.m., firefighters responded to the Gulf front home just north of Gordon’s Pass. Naples Fire-Rescue cleared the home. They say three firefighters from Greater Naples fire were on a balcony when it collapsed. A shooting at a popular burger restaurant in Wynwood on Monday night left a man hurt and workers shaken up, according to police and witnesses at the scene.  A child is suffering from serious injuries after getting into a crash with a Sarasota police officer while riding a dirt bike. The Sarasota Police Department says it happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday evening in the area of 22nd Street and Maple Avenue. The child was taken to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital where they are currently being treated. The incident unfolded around 1:45 a.m. after firefighters responded to a structure fire on McLeod Drive. Firefighters arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage and spreading into the main home, TFD said in a press release. – A 43-year-old Gulf Shores man is charged with attempted murder for a shooting in Escambia County. Grant Bieber is facing charges of attempted murder and shooting into a home. A 39-year-old woman from Hialeah was arrested Sunday after police say her elderly mother accused her and her boyfriend of abuse. According to an arrest report from the Hialeah Police Department, the victim called 911 Sunday to report that her daughter, Maritza Mazaira, abuses her verbally and physically. Police said the victim claimed that Mazaira has repeatedly pushed her in order to enter her bedroom and ransack it, looking for valuables.
