The U.S. Coast Guard patrolling the southeast region of the U.S., including South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean Sea, responded to the incident. Woman injured in shooting at ‘social gathering’; JSO looking for suspect

A woman was injured in a shooting at a social gathering Sunday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO said around 5:27 p.m., officers responded to West 30th Street about a person shot. Police found a woman in her mid-20s shot in the leg. Police said the initial investigation revealed a person had fired around 20 shots from a handgun, hitting her once. The suspect left the scene in a silver SUV, which has now been found, JSO said.
