A woman was injured in a shooting at a social gathering Sunday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO said around 5:27 p.m., officers responded to West 30th Street about a person shot. Police found a woman in her mid-20s shot in the leg. Police said the initial investigation revealed a person had fired around 20 shots from a handgun, hitting her once. The suspect left the scene in a silver SUV, which has now been found, JSO said.

A Melrose man was arrested Saturday following a home shooting that left a local resident in the hospital. A teenager driving a sport bike was killed after colliding with a Tesla in Palm Beach County near the Westlake community Saturday evening. A suspected drunk driver crashed into three patrol vehicles late Saturday night, injuring two St. Lucie County deputies and a Fort Pierce police officer during a felony traffic stop. An alleged home invasion in Tampa left a teenager hospitalized Sunday afternoon. Two people were trapped in their apartment by debris Saturday when a roof partially collapsed in Margate, authorities said.
