2 killed in Martin County’s fifth fatal traffic crash in 4 days

Photo: MCSO A deadly crash on Florida’s Turnpike in Palm City shut down all northbound lanes on Monday afternoon, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened just after 3 p.m. near the 132-mile marker, just before Exit 133 for Martin Downs Boulevard, according to Florida 511. As of this writing, all lanes have reopened. Two people were killed, and Martin County Fire Rescue said its firefighter-paramedics transported one person with traumatic injuries by ground to the hospital. Florida Highway Patrol is also on the scene.

The Panama City Police Department says at 2:07 a.m., officers responded to a physical altercation at the Suburban Studios Motel on Highway 98. On arrival, officials say they found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
