News13 was first on the scene and spoke with a witness who said they heard five shots fired. A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Leesburg, according to police. Officers responded around 8:37 p.m. to Citrus Boulevard just north of North Shore Drive. Investigators say a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by a 66-year-old man, struck a pedestrian in the outside lane. The pedestrian, 52-year-old Matthew Davis of Leesburg, suffered life-threatening injuries. A 49-year-old Middleburg man was killed Wednesday when his van left the road and struck a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The report said the man was driving a van on Lakewood Lane when, for unknown reasons, he suddenly accelerated, crossed over the sidewalk, and continued onto the shoulder of Oakwood Lane. A dump truck rollover on Alico Road in Lee County is causing traffic delays near the WildBlue community entrance. Hardee County Fire Rescue (HCFR) said multiple pets were rescued from a manufactured home fire on Monday night. HCFR said crews responded to a reported structure fire on Branch Road just before 10:30 p.m. on April 27. Upon arrival, crews reported finding a single-story manufactured home partially involved with visible flames and smoke. Officials said no residents were injured, but several cats and one dog were found alive in the home and safely removed. HCFR said crews contained the fire,
