photo by: (WPLG)  A driver is doing OK after crashing his or her vehicle into a canal along West Okeechobee Road Friday morning, first responders confirmed to Local 10 News. Sky 10 was above the scene near Northwest 105th Way at 6:45 a.m. as the white vehicle was being hoisted out of the water. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed that the driver had made it out of the vehicle before first responders arrived. No one was transported to the hospital.

A woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car in Tampa Thursday evening, according to the Tampa Police Department.  What we know: Officers said they responded just after 7:45 p.m. to the 4100 block of East Busch Boulevard after receiving reports that a pedestrian was hit by a car.  The woman was found in the road when police arrived at the scene, and officers said she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Two people were detained after a stabbing in Miami on Thursday, the third one that’s happened in the city this week. The stabbing happened at around 8:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Northeast 2nd Street, according to Miami Police. Investigators say the victim is a 49-year-old man, who is in stable condition. Two cars went into canals Friday morning in Miami-Dade, and in one instance, one person was taken to the hospital. Both incidents happened at around 4 a.m. According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, one vehicle went into the water on Northwest South River Drive, in Medley. An arrest was made in a deadly Boynton Beach crash that killed two people and injured four, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says. A multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in Boca Raton has blocked a lane during rush hour traffic. According to Florida 511, the multi-vehicle crash occurred on I-95 North at Exit 45, near SR-808/Glades Road. The crash, which was reported at 4:23 p.m., resulted in the blockage of the left lane while emergency personnel handle the scene. Cameras show some traffic congestion. An elderly woman was killed after she was struck by two vehicles in Delray Beach on Wednesday night. The Delray Beach Police Department (DRPD) said the deadly crash occurred at around 8:21 p.m. at 2000 S. Ocean Boulevard. The 71-year-old woman was struck by two vehicles, one heading northbound and the other southbound. Police said the elderly woman was stopped between both travel lanes, but no further details were provided. DRPD said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old was taken into custody Thursday after Tampa police said he was connected to a shooting in which another teen was gunned down while riding his bicycle. There was a large law enforcement presence in Brooksville Thursday night following a deputy-involved shooting. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said the incident took place just after 9 p.m. Deputies said they pulled a driver over for a traffic stop near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Brooksville Avenue.
