A crash on State Road 408 stifled traffic heading into Orlando Thursday morning, according to police. The multi-vehicle crash occurred westbound approaching Mills, police said around 7:35 a.m. on social media. An update within the hour stated the roadway was back open. Multiple drivers were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash involving a mail truck on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to incident reports, troopers with FHP responded to State Road 298 (Lillian Highway) and North 57th Avenue around 3:33 p.m. on Tuesday for reports of a crash.  A St. Petersburg man was arrested for stabbing his girlfriend to death over the weekend, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.  Rifet Redzic, 53, is accused of stabbing his girlfriend, 50-year-old Nafa Secic, multiple times on March 9, according to deputies.  Officials said they responded to a residence on 62nd Avenue North in unincorporated St. Pete after receiving reports of a suicidal subject. The 911 caller said that Secic stabbed herself and was dead, according to officials.  Secic was found dead in her bedroom

Deputies are investigating after a person was hit and killed by a train near Seffner late Monday night. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call around 11:30 p.m. reporting a body on the railroad tracks on Parsons Avenue. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives then determined the victim was hit by the train. No other details have been released at this time. A 15-year-old student was taken to a hospital on Wednesday morning after she was hit by a car, Port St. Lucie police said. A spokesperson for the Port St. Lucie Police Department said the teen was struck just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Crosstown Parkway and Southwest Cameo Boulevard. A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Vermont died in a collision with a car Tuesday night, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. Two people were robbed of their expensive jewelry Wednesday night while they were inside a restaurant in Miami near Midtown, authorities confirmed. There’s new information about a teacher assistant accused of molesting a 12-year-old male student, and it is shocking, to say the least. Lauren King was arrested after detectives found more than 4,000 sexual texts between her and a student. That student has a learning disability and goes to Royal Palm School in Fort Myers, where King worked. A released document shows how King manipulated the boy.  A teen is dead after an accidental shooting in the Upper Tampa Bay Trail area in Tampa Tuesday evening, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.  Deputies responded at around 11:15 p.m. to a call about an accidental shooting.
