A 51-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Winter Springs early Wednesday, according to police. Officers responded to the call shortly after midnight at 430 Sheoah Boulevard. When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A construction worker was killed Tuesday night after becoming trapped under a construction vehicle that was accidentally driven into a retention pond, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. An 82-year-old Tarpon Springs woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on US-19 Monday evening, troopers said. The Florida Highway Patrol said at 7:31 p.m., the woman was heading south on the highway when she tried to make a left turn onto Colonial Boulevard. However, as she turned, she got into the path of a BMW driven by a 17-year-old boy from Palm Harbor. Troopers said the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment but died of her injuries.

An 18-year-old woman was killed and four other teenagers were injured in a Hernando County crash late Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Tundra Drive and Brookridge Central Boulevard. According to FHP, a van driven by a 66-year-old man from Port Charlotte was traveling south on the center of US-41, south of Midway Boulevard, at around 11:27 p.m. on Tuesday. A drowning investigation was underway after a young boy who was pulled from a pool at a Fort Lauderdale home died Monday night.
