A man in his mid-40s died Saturday morning after being struck by an off-duty Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office police officer’s vehicle on his way to work in the New Town neighborhood. The sheriff’s office report notes just before 9:30 p.m., a Honda Accord driven by a 46-year-old man was traveling northbound on Seminole Boulevard and made a left turn on Genessee Avenue. Two drivers are hospitalized with serious injuries after colliding head-on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said. At 5:02 a.m., troopers said a 21-year-old Winter Haven man in a Ford F150 was traveling in the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard. At the same time, a 48-year-old Illinois man in a Chrysler Pacifica was traveling east in the eastbound lanes on the same road. Police have arrested the woman who they say crashed into a good Samaritan helping a stranded motorist in Fort Lauderdale months ago, causing life-altering injuries, before she fled the scene. Now, 29-year-old T S L M is behind bars, accused of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and other charges. The incident happened just after midnight back on Aug. 11 when the victim, Y A, saw someone pushing a truck in the 2300 block of Northwest 6th Street.
