A deadly crash closed lanes in both directions of Bermont Road, between Paradise Park and Eugene Avenue, in Charlotte County Wednesday morning. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Florida Highway Patrol, responded to the scene around 3:15 a.m. Florida troopers said a 20-year-old Parrish man was driving west on Bermont Rd as a 28-year-old Davie man was driving east. The Parrish man reportedly crossed the centerline and entered the path of the other driver, striking the car head-on.

Residents in Green Cove Springs lost power due to a vehicle striking a power pole Tuesday night. According to Clay County Fire Rescue officials, a vehicle veered off the road on County Road 209 South near Snake Road and struck a power pole.
