Multiple people were taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a Clearwater police vehicle that was stopped helping a disabled vehicle. According to Rob Shaw, the Clearwater Police spokesperson, the officer was stopped to help around 11 p.m. Thursday when another car crashed into his police vehicle on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. An investigation is underway in Pompano Beach after a shooting left one person dead, authorities said. Broward Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue units arrived at the scene of the incident in the area of the 11000 block of Northeast 10th Street, Thursday afternoon. Firefighters battled a blaze at a popular restaurant in Interlachen on Thursday morning. Putnam County Fire Rescue and Melrose Fire Department firefighters responded to Hog Wild Country Café on County Road 310. When they arrived, about half the restaurant was on fire.
