The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance footage showing the moments an inmate attacked a deputy. The video was taken inside the Falkenburg Road Jail on Oct. 19. The attack lasted for several minutes before another inmate stepped in. Sheriff Chad Chronister filed a motion Thursday asking for the full video to be sealed by the courts. He said it shows how many surveillance cameras are in the jail and where they are. Officers could be seen taping off the scene at SW 1st Street and SW 1st Avenue, off of Hallandale Beach Boulevard. No injuries were reported, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Department of Fire Rescue. A gas line was hit, but the leak was quickly secured by turning off a valve, authorities said. A deadly crash shut down a portion of Gandy Boulevard for several hours on Thursday evening. The crash happened around 5:30 pm on Gandy Boulevard at Brighton Bay Boulevard. All eastbound lanes were closed, causing traffic to be at a near-standstill for miles along the roadway. The roadway has since reopened.  While the Florida Highway Patrol said the crash was deadly, it’s not clear what caused the crash or how many people were hurt. According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, the crash was reported at 2:49 a.m. in the area of Northwest 27th Avenue and 132nd Street. He said officers arrived at the scene and found the victim – an adult male. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run along a busy stretch of U.S. 301 in Manatee County. According to FHP, a vehicle hit a pedestrian early Friday near the intersection with 44th Avenue East, south of Bradenton. After the driver took off, an SUV and a motorcycle also hit the victim, FHP said. They both remained at the scene. Troopers said they’re looking for an unknown model Nissan that may be white. A 37-year-old man from Ocala is dead after a motorcycle crash last night. Florida highway patrol officials say the 37-year-old was traveling down southwest 103rd street road just before 10 pm. A 59-year-old man from Ocala was traveling south down southwest 62nd avenue when the 37-year-old motorcycle driver hit the front of the 59-year-olds vehicle. Bodycam video shows the moments after a motorcyclist was struck and killed by a driver who, police say, fell asleep behind the wheel. The fatal crash occurred on Miami Beach in the area of Meridian Avenue and 41st Street on April 15.
