According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, officers responded to the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 69th Street just before 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports about a person being shot in the area. Rodriguez said officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Local 10 photojournalist Lani Yasuk-Carrier was told at the scene that the victim had been shot in the chest.

One person was critically injured in a rollover crash Thursday in Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 4:55 p.m. on Landstar Boulevard and E. Town Center Boulevard. According to troopers, a 17-year-old Kissimmee girl traveling in a Volkswagen Beetle attempted a left turn and went into the path of a Toyota Corolla. Two people are dead after two different crashes in North Central Florida, at least one the result of wet roads. Troopers say a 20-year-old driver from Lake City was traveling on I-10 just east of the I-75 interchange around 6 o’clock this evening. Photo by: FHP On Thursday Florida Highway Patrol announced they arrested a 19 year old motorcyclist from Cape Coral following an investigation into a crash from June. FHP’s Traffic Homicide Division said Alexander Isbel Cruz was arrested on a felony warrant for Vehicular Homicide. In the crash, FHP determined that Cruz’s motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed. It was going between 96 to106 mph traveling south on Interstate 75, south of mile marker 138 in Lee County.

A man is dead after a SWAT standoff shut down traffic on Rockridge Road near U.S. Highway 98, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd shared in a press conference Wednesday. A man accused of deliberately driving his car toward another man, striking and killing him in Daytona Beach, was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder and will face up to life in prison when he is sentenced. Anthony Adum, 42, was charged with first-degree murder, but the jury returned a guilty verdict on the lesser charge, which is punishable by up to life in prison as opposed to the mandatory life sentence for first-degree murder. It was a dangerous drive in a Miami neighborhood when a woman said a driver ran into her and fled the scene with her on the hood of the car, and the startling confrontation was caught on camera.
