A man is recovering after a woman attacked him with a machete and severed the tip of his thumb in North Fort Myers. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sheila King on Saturday night and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, stating that King internally harmed the man and caused permanent bodily disfigurement. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office violent crimes unit responded to the stabbing on Suncoast Drive in North Fort Myers at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Same shrimp boat strikes Fort Myers Beach’s Matanzas Pass Bridge second day in a row

Just a day after a shrimp boat’s outrigger caused a major traffic disruption, the same boat hit the Matanzas Pass Bridge again on Tuesday morning. On Tuesday morning, the Florida Department of Transportation reported the the Matanzas Pass Bridge was hit by the same shrimp boat from Monday’s crash.
