A 54-year-old Collier County woman was arrested after being accused of repeatedly striking and yelling at a baby in her care.
Deysi Acosta, 54, is facing child abuse charges after Collier County deputies arrested her on Tuesday.
According to detectives, another child at Acosta’s home day care used an iPad that belonged to a third child to record a video of Acosta as she repeatedly hit the baby on the butt and legs while she was changing his diaper.
Acosta could be heard yelling at the victim by his name and calling him an “untrained savage horse” in Spanish, according to the arrest report.
Detectives say it was clear that Acosta was angry and frustrated.
The mother of the child who had the iPad later discovered multiple videos of the abuse and contacted the victim’s mother.
The victim’s mother then contacted deputies.
After investigations, deputies say they located Acosta on Tuesday and arrested her.
Acosta is facing a charge of child abuse without great bodily harm.
