About 1,700 JEA customers were without power on Sunday night, according to JEA’s power outage map, after a car hit a pole in the Duclay Forest neighborhood.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue said the crash occurred at Blanding Boulevard and Morse Avenue around 7:40 p.m.

It is unclear what caused the crash.

According to JEA, crews will need to replace the pole to restore power, which is expected to be done by 2 a.m. Monday.

“We appreciate customers’ patience while our crews work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service,” JEA said.
