Fire crews battled a house fire near Winkler Road in Fort Myers overnight.
The Iona McGregor Fire District responded to the home, alongside South Trail Fire protection & Rescue Service District, Lee County Public Safety and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Firefighters said they quickly found the fire in the kitchen area.
According to reports, the residents and their dogs were able to evacuate safely before firefighters arrive.
There were no injuries to residents or fire department personnel.
The Red Cross is now assisting the family. At this time, firefighters said it appears to have been a cooking-related fire.
