Cyclist dead after being struck by pair of motorcycles in Estero

A cyclist was killed after being struck by two motorcycles in Estero on Tuesday night.

The crash happened at Three Oaks Parkway and Corkscrew Road around 7:55 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 24-year-old male from Naples and a 22-year-old female from Estero were each driving a motorcycle north on Three Oaks Parkway.

A 64-year-old pedestrian from Estero was walking from the east shoulder of Three Oaks Parkway to the center median just north of Corkscrew Road before entering the path of the motorcycles, according to reports.

The motorcycles struck the man on his bike in the northbound lane. FHP says the man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

Both motorcyclists were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The identities of those involved have not been shared at this time.

According to FHP, the northbound lanes were blocked on Three Oaks Parkway coming from Corkscrew Road.

FHP says this is an ongoing investigation.
