A deadly crash shut down a portion of Gandy Boulevard for several hours on Thursday evening.
The crash happened around 5:30 pm on Gandy Boulevard at Brighton Bay Boulevard. All eastbound lanes were closed, causing traffic to be at a near-standstill for miles along the roadway. The roadway has since reopened.
While the Florida Highway Patrol said the crash was deadly, it’s not clear what caused the crash or how many people were hurt.
