A head-on crash Tuesday morning left one person dead and two in critical condition on State Road 100 about 7 miles northwest of the Palatka Municipal Airport.
The pileup around 7 a.m. blocked all lanes near Carraway Church Road.
Deputies said the area will be blocked for hours as the Florida Highway Patrol investigates.
Traffic is being diverted to Springside Shortcut Road to Carraway Mail Route Road.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
