ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A deadly shooting at a St. Petersburg construction site on Friday afternoon was self-defense, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said at 1:30 p.m., officers were called to a house under construction at 1400 Farragut Drive N.

Police said there was a disagreement between a general contractor and a sub-contractor tile worker. The tile worker began to smash completed tile work when the general contractor, identified as Mostafa Ah Abdo, went and got a gun out of his truck.

Abdo threatened the tile worker when the tile worker’s father pulled out his gun and shot Abdo, according to police.

Abdo died from his injuries.

Police said the shooting was “justifiable self-defense” and no one was arrested.
